The FORTEX high speed Printed Circuit Board Drilling and Routing machine is of a robust steel and aluminium construction, with a work illuminating lamp, large base plate, key type chuck, fence and depth stop. Polarising key cutouts in edge connectors, square forming for edge connector corner clearances, cut outs for relays, etc., all can be machined by use of the adjustable fence and depth stop. The PCB Drilling Routing Machine has an AC Motor variable speed controller allowing the speed of the spindle to be adjusted from 12,000 to 22,000 rpm. This allows the most effective spindle speed and feed rate to be set to suit the type of milling cutter being used and material being machined.
Complicated contours and rubouts can be shaped in copper PCB laminates from a master by use of 1/8 inch ( 3.175 mm ) diameter router cutter enabling identical reproduction of the master profile.
Unwanted copper tracks can easily be removed or broken on the prototype printed circuit board by routing and by use of the fully adjustable height setting on the spindle unit. Another common use is for “copper rub outs” Rough edges on printed circuit boards can also be chamfered by the use of an angle cutter and the fence in the side position thus allowing any size of circuit board to be chamfered.
