This UV blocking G10 Window film is amber/yellow in colour, and it is this that provides the UV protection, blocking UV light below 520nm into the low visible light region. This high level of protection makes the film suitable UV Photosensitive applications in areas such research laboratories, medical facilities, clean rooms and photography labs where products and or processes must be protected against UV light during processing, Examples are in the production of Photosensitive inks, laquers, plate making facilities, semiconductor production, diazo Films, Photo resists, resins, semiconductor, micro electronics, printed circuit boards and solar panels.
Ultra Violet light starts to transition to visible light around 380nm and a well designed clear or lightly tinted window film will block over 99% of UV energy up to 375nm. However a number of clean room and medical applications require additional blocking from 380nm to 400nm, where both UV and visible light are present. UVBL film provides excellent blocking throughout the 400nm range with transmission below 10% all the way up to around 500nm. In situations where this type of extreme UV light blocking is required the film is applied to all sources of light within the room such as windows, fluorescent/LED lighting . The amber colour is what gives the film this extra blocking capability.
The G10 UV protective foil is a High Quality Polyester film coated with a amber/yellow ultra violet light filter. Suitable for masking of windows, Skylights etc. Please note that we also supply a wide range of UV safe light filter sleeves for Fluorescent and LED lighting.
